Which materials are in your jewellery?

Most of our jewellery is made with 925 sterling silver. Some items are made using metal alloys, and stainless steel, and include cubic zirconia, various gemstones, and imitation stones. For more information on what a specific item is made of, please read the product descriptions.

All of our products are in line with UK Regulations regarding metal content.

What is 925 sterling silver?

Pure silver is too soft to create durable jewellery so it is mixed with other stronger metals such as copper. This is to a ratio of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals, which is where the name 925 silver comes from.

Is your jewellery nickel and lead free?

All of our products are nickel, lead, and cadmium free and are in line with UK legislation regarding lead, nickel and heavy metal content.

What is E-coating?

E-coating is a hypoallergenic, clear coating to protect the jewellery from tarnishing.

Why do gemstone colours look different than the photos?

Our photos match the product colour as closely as possible. However, colours can vary based on lighting, angle, display screens, etc. Products containing gemstones may also vary. That's because all gemstones are uniquely made so no one stone looks the same.

How and why are Ambria Jewellery products hallmarked?

Precious metals are rarely used in their purest form but are usually alloyed with other metals for workability, durability, wearability.

It isn't possible to detect an article's precious metal content by sight or touch. Therefore, it is a legal requirement for an Assay Office to hallmark articles containing precious metals if they are described as such.

A hallmark is a set of component marks applied to articles of precious metals. It means that the article has been independently tested. It also guarantees that it conforms to all legal standards of purity.

Check out our Hallmark Guide for more information.

How do I care for my jewellery?

Visit our Care Guide for information on how to care for your jewellery.

How are my items packaged?

Our products are beautifully presented on a white display card, wrapped in a layer of white paper bubble wrap, and then packed into a glassine pouch. Your order is then sent to you in a eco-friendly cardboard mailer. Our packaging comes unbranded so you can reuse them for your own purposes.

Please note that some of our older stock may still be sent to you in our old packaging. This is a rose gold gift box, wrapped in a bubble pouch and a plastic grip bag.

How do I know what size ring I need?

The majority of our rings are adjustable, which means you do not need to worry about exact sizes. However, some of our rings are sized, in which case you will need to know which size is best fitted for you.

See our Size Guide for information on how to correctly measure your ring size.

How do I adjust an adjustable ring?

Readjusting the rings are simple. For larger sizes, gently pry apart the band. For smaller sizes, gently squeeze the bottom of the band between your fingers. Adjust the fit until the ring sits comfortably around your finger.
